Endless Eight is Endless by mementomoryo Endless Eight is Endless by mementomoryo
So it's up to, what, SIX episodes of the "Endless Eight" story arc of Haruhi, and I think it's safe to say that every non-moeblob-fetished fan is something pissed at the way things are going. I can understand that times are tough, and that Kyoto Animation (KyoAni for short) has a reputation of sucking the cash out of fans' pockets in evil sneaky ways, but ENOUGH IS BLOODY ENOUGH. Is this what they made us wait 3 years for?

Also, Mikuru, you suck as a Time Lord/Time Lady/Time Chipmunk. Let a real time traveller handle things by smacking some sense into Haruhi, mmmkay?
---

EDIT: SEVEN GORRAM EPISODES NOW! :dead:

EDIT 2: :sing: It's oooover, it's oooover~! Bring on Disappearance, KyoAni, you bastards! I am now un-phase-able!

Since it was an issue involving time, you would think it would fall within Mikuru's expertise to find a solution. Or at least she would have some way of retaining memory in just such an event. But no. She ends up going along for the ride, Yuki has to endure decades of monotony and the good doctor himself has to be called in to clean up.

I have no clue why everybody hates on Endless Eight so much it was a good and funny story, not to mention that the real fun in it was looking for all the little differences between the episodes, and seeing if you could spot any clues that could have ended the loop sooner. I'm proud to say that I watched all 8 Episodes and I STILL LOVED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!

I respect your opinion; After all, the arc was a huge divider among the fans, and no show would be any fun without debate, right? :) I was just a little miffed that they spent 8 episodes' worth of money and time when they could have gotten the same results with just 3 or so - but that's my opinion.

You, sir or miss, are a true fan! :)

Well, it's not all Mikuru's fault... Apparently, it may have been /the daleks/ that were causing the time loop... Until finally Kyon and Itsuki escaped... (Thus, reassuring us that it is after all possible to escape, and that the rest will escape in a day or so.) Yuki, however, supposedly "snaps..." when it's all over... Sad, though, having to go through all those episodes. And besides, Mikuru only has a vortex manipulator! The Doctor calls that kind of time travel "trash."

Hmmm, you do have a good point! Now that I think of it, Mikuru's device more closely resembles the one that Jack used when we first met him during the Blitz.

Wait, that would mean...

MIKURU'S A TORCHWOOD AGENT! :O

Wrong: It would make her a Time Agent. Jack Harkness used to be a Time Agent, and that's where his watch/vortex manipulator came from. Not to mention, Mikuru seems to be a bit of a Time Agent.

If you watched the Pandoraca finale part 1, we are even more amused by how badarse RiverSong is, as she made a bargain for a vortex manipulator that was "fresh off the wrist of a Time Agent." (Yet, she seems to have gotten it back somehow, considering she was able to stick around in present day for a bit before leaving, from part two.)

And during the Blitz, chronologically for Jack Harkness, well, that was before he formed New Torchwood.

Gah, I stand corrected! It's been quite a while since I watched DW, mainly due to me not having a TV any longer. Still, I can't believe I mixed up the Time Agency with Torchwood! Mikuru is whiny, but not whiny enough to be Torchwood material! (I kid, I kid.)

Thanks!

You know, if Endless Eight had ended with a Doctor Who crossover (perhaps SIX GODDAMN EPISODES EARLIER), things would have been so much more bearable. ^^

I can't empathize with this more.

Endless Eight was a God-Damn nightmare. Could you imagine experiencing this week to week in Japan? Imagine if fucking LOST pulled something like this... 8 episodes, six of total repeats, so if it were an episode per week, that's two...full...mother...porking...MONTHS of this shit.

Yeah, I know they have to have 14 episodes per season, and they had decided the "Disappearance" saga would be its own movie (which was fucking awesome, no complaints about that, eager to see season 2), but you're telling me they had so much white space that they couldn't have scrounged together a few stupid filler episodes, instead of contributing to THE MOST RIDICULOUS FUCKING WASTE OF AIRTIME SINCE "GLEE"???

I mean, honestly, I'm glad this show can take risks and all, but this just seemed like such an under-thought idea. How many people could possibly watch the same episode, eight fucking times, with altered costumes, camera angles and MAYBE one new conversation we didn't see, and not become torturously bored?

I'd like to think of Mikuru as either the result of Romana regenerating and suffering brain damage during the Time War, or some distant descendant of either Jenny or Susan. :)
