The first of three or four illustrations to be used as backdrops in the 2011 HAJET Hokkaido Players musical, The Jungle Book.
The idea is that instead of painting and then lugging around a huge background, the illustrations will simply be projected onto a screen or piece of scrim behind the stage. Economical, and it leaves room for props and costumes in people's cars!
The next two paintings will be of the Bandar-Log monkeys' temple and the human village. Stay tuned, and remember to check out the Hokkaido Players' website here: [link]
