Donít let go of my hand Repair joyfully, probing, the entire globe if this knot of mine overflows the world I only want to connect our fortunes that simply met each other at the same time Iíll protect the world from within my knot Iíll create the future
I'm pretty much dead from exhaustion after working on this piece for two days straight, but I hope it's satisfactory to me even after I get some rest and look at it again.
Like the Aradia and Vriska paintings, I've combined religious imagery and Homestuck into something... weird and kind of pretentiously cool.
Also, Kanaya is a BAMF and this painting doesn't come close to portraying that side of her.
Pencil, watercolors, gold watercolor and slight Copics on hot press watercolor paper.
Kanaya Maryam copyright Andrew Hussie; Art copyright me.
It's okay that this isn't her as a BAMF; like all with the Aspect of Space, she is also a nurturing, maternal soul. You have portrayed her as a mother, not as a warrior. It's still a perfectly legitimate facet of her character.
And may I say that I am completely in love with this!!!! <3
There is something so... Art Nouveau about this! I have no doubt Alphonse Mucha would take a shining to it!
Your use of transparency and subtlety is particularly impressive! Personally, I have a great deal of trouble conveying that with watercolors. Her hood might be my favorite part.<3
ahhhh so terezi's the only one left, then? unless you plan on doing kids or exiles or ancestors or whatever... i didn't even realize this is a series of pictures until now ha ha.
i like the whole religious and philosophical undertones in this series quite a bit! hussie himself does that with his work, but its really neat to see the undertones come to life in some pretentious, obviously artsy way. its neat!
I...I am incoherent. The colors you used are amazing, and...and the robe/dress is amazing. I am in awe of anyone who can draw clothing well. The songs also go very well with the drawing. This is beautiful.
