Full scan of :[link] . It took me forever to scan it in chunks and then piece it together, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
I discovered an old Avatar fanart of mine while preparing for the art fair last week, and I decided I'll try something radical: I cut out the main subject of the piece (Sokka and Yue in their wedding attire), and gued it to an acrylic background I'd prepared. Then I added various deco, and voila!
Yes, Yue is wearing antlers. Northern Water Tribe culture is based partially on the cultures of the tundra peoples, so who's to say that elk are out of the picture? It's kind of nice and symbolic.
NOTE on the script on the sides: I didn't use regular hanji (kanji), but Tangut, an archaic offshoot of hanzi/kanji once used by the Tangut people of Northern China. The language itself is now extinct, but DAMN those characters are neat! Who knew that so few radicals could have so many combinations?

Wow this is sick (in a good way!). the amount of detail is amazing...from the writing to the water to the two little fish on top. and of course the weird and transformed yue and sokka. it's all a beautiful combination :3.
OMG, even if it's not the kind of style I like..this is one awesome piece of art!
Congratulations!
