And my visual tributes to Asian cinema keep rolling in, folks! XD Man, I need to get into German or Russian cinema one of these days, just to add some variety. Or maybe not. ^^
The film I'm fangirling over in this painting is Fa Neung Nin Wa, known to Westerners as In the Mood for Love. It was the film that really made me fall in love with Tony Leung Chiu Wai and Maggie Cheung as an on-screen couple. Their roles as Chow Mo Wan and Su Li Zhen blew me away. The film also made me adore Wong Kar Wai as a director. Every single shot of this movie just oozes yearning and passion. It made me wish that I lived in 1960s Hong Kong, too. *sigh*
It's all done in watercolor, with the exception of the gold ink and the little glued-on paper flowers that I bought from a scrapbooking store. I think it looks nice, having a bit of the ol' 3D thrown in.
The meta-sequel to this movie, 2046, is coming out in my city soon, but I can't seem to find any showtimes yet. Arrrgh, curse you, Empire Theatres!
