Of all the paintings I've done of the human kids in Homestuck, this one took by far the longest amount of time to paint, from beginning to end. Word to the wise: Don't use black and gold metallic watercolor in combination unless you're really sure what you're going to do with them, because they will fuck everything up, guaranteed.
I'd originally planned to paint Roxy drowning in a giant cosmic martini glass or some such thing, but I changed my mind. Why? Because Roxy is more than just her drinking problem, which we've seen proven countless times and in increasing frequency with each update. What I find the most fascinating about her is her connection to Calliope, and how Caliborn's awakening seems to have made the distance between them almost impossibly vast. I really hope she finds a way to bring the poor girl back from the void.
The colour scheme and visuals are the result of watching Aronofsky's The Fountain more times than is reasonable.
